American Idol, Who Cares!

So America Who's Next? " I Don't Care"
Now I know millions of people love American Idol but lets be honest is it the show or the idea that you have some control over the outcome? Now I wont deny that there's some talented people that have gained exposure through the show, such as first season winner Kelly Clarkson and more recently Chris Doughtry who didn't even win.
I personally don't watch the show if I can avoid it but occasionally I'll catch the end of an episode when I sit down to watch House.
Anyway I don't understand the draw, how can this show have been on television for 6 seasons now? Let me not even get started on the tryouts. If you really want me to take this show seriously don't show me the auditions, "I don't care who didn't make it" . The auditions are just filler as far as I'm concerned and while some may think they are funny I think it's utterly depressing to watch. Oh and the judges, please they are the same 3 people every single season so we will get the same style of musicians every single time. I bet you anything you get 3 different individuals with different entertainment backgrounds to judge the contestants and we'll have a very different show.
So season 6 has brought a unique perspective on this type of reality show with Sanjaya Malakar. Now I have no real opinion on his talents since I've only seen him perform a couple of times for a total of a minute. He sounds okay nothing to idolize really. The folks over at votefortheworst.com with the help of Howard Stern seem to be achieving just what they set out to do and that's supposedly beat the system. I think that's a bunch of crap. So they can pick the winner, umm correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that the point. It's not about who does America think is the best it's about who does American want to win. We've already seen that the best usually is the one that sells the most records, that would be the one that ultimately wins and that's when America really chooses.
